I misread the title of this pattern when I saw it first, and my head filled up with images of rascal boys climbing high walls and juicy apples in the colour of this merino/silk, before I went back and discovered it was actually called "Orchid Thief". But by then it was fixed and it suits the luscious Coolree yarn so perfectly, shading as it does from deep wine to brick red and fuchsia pink.
The pattern was a challenge, requiring Ysolda's errata and a high level of concentration for the transition to the leaf border. And then I ran out of yarn and gave it up as a bad job for a while. A couple of months ago I fished it out, and solved the puzzle of how to make it work. I only have three repeats of the main body, and a lot of increased stitches to make the leaf border transition smoothly, so when I blocked it, it wanted to go into a cresent shape. I let it, and luckily there's just enough length in it to tie around the neck.
